Bio
Michael Yeager was hired as the Head Men’s Golf Coach at SUNY Adirondack for the Spring of
2025. With a passion for golf and a deep commitment to student-athlete development, Yeager
brings over 20 years of experience in coaching, teaching, and leadership. His coaching
philosophy emphasizes hard work, discipline, and creating a positive, competitive environment
where athletes can thrive both on and off the course.
Yeager is a graduate of Oswego State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Applied
Science (BAS) degree in Technology Education. He later earned his Master’s degree in
Curriculum and Instruction from Plattsburgh State University, strengthening his ability to blend
education with athletics. Yeager's coaching career spans several successful stints, most notably
as the head coach of the varsity golf team at South Glens Falls High School. He served as head
coach from 2004 to 2012, and again from 2017 to 2024, where he cultivated a culture of skill
development, sportsmanship, and team success.
In addition to his coaching roles, Yeager has an extensive background in leadership and
education. He currently serves as the K-12 Instructional Team Leader for Technology Education
at South Glens Falls High School, where he mentors both students and faculty in innovative
learning strategies. His leadership experience extends to the baseball field as well, having
served as the head varsity baseball coach at South Glens Falls from 2002 to 2009, as well as in
roles such as baseball manager and division commissioner for the BHBL Baseball program from
2014 to 2020.
Yeager’s career also includes significant military service. He served in the 25th Infantry Division,
where he completed Air Assault School and received the Army Good Conduct Medal and
Overseas Service Ribbon.
With a rich history in coaching and leadership, Michael Yeager is dedicated to building a strong,
competitive golf program at SUNY Adirondack, focused on player development, academic
success, and creating a lasting impact on his athlete's lives.
