Softball Takes Loss In Inaugural Game
April 2
Queensbury, NY
It's the beginning of a new era for SUNY Adirondack Softball. They played their home-opening game in their new on-campus turf stadium. The game had them matched up against conference opponent Mohawk Valley Community College. There were lots of nerves on the field for Adirondack and the Hawks took advantage establishing a healthy lead. The Timberwolves struggled to manage Mohawk's bats giving up eight runs over the first two innings. Adirondack's Madison Pincheon went 1-for-2 at the plate and the team was able to turn one double play in the game.
Aubreigh DeMello started in the circle for Adirondack. The righty allowed thirteen hits and nine runs over four innings, striking out one and walking two. Samantha Manning provided an inning of relief, facing four batters. Final score 9-0, Mohawk Valley
