Softball Battles Herkimer But Can't Earn Win

Adirondack Softball traveled to conference power Herkimer for a mid-week match-up. The first point of the game came from Morgan Randall, stealing home. Herkimer countered adding four of their own runs but Adirondack came alive, and took the lead 5-4, in the top of the fourth. Aubreigh DeMello singled on a ground ball, scoring Paeton Butler. Marissa Jarvis singled on a line drive to right field, allowing Samantha Manning to score. Maddy Wasserman send a solo homerun to center field in the fifth inning but Herkimer kept producing runs and eventually took the win. Final score 9-6, Herkimer
DeMello opened for Adirondack allowing 16 hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out one and walking two.
Lillian Slattery and Jarvis each collected three hits. DeMello, Wasserman, Jarvis and Maddison Pincheon each drove in one run for Adirondack. Randall collected two hits for the Timberwolves.
