Adirondack Softball Falls in High-Scoring Home Opener Finale Against CCRI
Queensbury, NY – In a thrilling back-and-forth contest, the SUNY Adirondack softball team came up just short in the second game of their home opener against the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), losing 20-14. Despite the final score, the game was much closer than it appeared, with Adirondack leading on multiple occasions and making a strong push throughout.
The Lady Timberwolves were in control for much of the game, but a decisive 8-run fourth inning from CCRI proved to be the turning point. If not for that explosive inning, Adirondack would have been in a prime position to secure the win. The game featured relentless offense, with both teams showing their offensive prowess.
Sophomore Natalie Conroy led the charge for the Lady Timberwolves, collecting 4 hits in the game, while Sam Manning added 3 hits of her own. Freshman Emma Martens and sophomore Marissa Jarvis both had standout performances, each driving in 4 RBIs to keep Adirondack in the hunt.
With plenty of positives to take away, the Lady Timberwolves will look to build on their offensive momentum and shore up their defense as they prepare for upcoming matchups.
