SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves Fall 7-6 in Extra Innings to Mohawk Valley CC
The SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves came up just short in the second game of their doubleheader against Mohawk Valley Community College, losing 7-6 in an exciting eight-inning battle on Sunday.
Natalie Conroy powered the Timberwolves' offense with a home run and two RBIs, while Emma Martens drove in three runs to keep the game close. Despite their strong offensive performances, SUNY Adirondack couldn't seal the victory as Mohawk Valley capitalized in the extra inning to claim the win.
Maddy Wasserman delivered a strong performance in the circle, striking out nine batters over seven innings of work. Wasserman kept the Timberwolves in the game, battling through tough situations and consistently challenging Mohawk Valley's hitters.
The Timberwolves and Mohawk Valley exchanged runs throughout the contest, with Adirondack battling back after Mohawk Valley took the lead. However, Mohawk Valley's offense came through in the eighth inning, scoring the game-winning run to secure the 7-6 victory.
Despite the tough loss, the Timberwolves showed resilience and will look to regroup and bounce back in their next matchup at home on April 2nd for a Region 3 double-header against The Herkimer College Generals.
