Volleyball Completes Season Sweep of Hudson Valley
The Timberwolves traveld down 87 to take on rival Hudson Valley in a mid week match up and made short work of their rival to the south.
Coach Li's squad hit the ground running in Troy as they crushed the Vikings in set one, 25 to 6. They relied on precision attacking to cruise to the first set victory, only committing 1 attack error.
The second set saw the Viking show signs of life, but Victoria Bruni and her teammates put the set to rest with a resounding 25 to 11 final score. Bruni ended the contest with 11 kills to lead the team and added 4 aces from the service line.
The third set was a battle as the Vikings fed off the home energy to get back into the contest. It was all tied up at 23 each before the Timberwolves put the set and match away with 2 big points to end it.
Morgan Bellanger was the star of the match as she set a Timberwolves record with 16 straight service points, breaking Megan Seeley's record of 15. Bellanger had a great match as she killed 6 points, served 5 aces and picked up 2 crucial blocks. She also dug 15 balls, second only to libero Leah Bowen who had 18.
Breanna MacDuff continued to be a rock steady setter as she assisted on 25 kills and is currently leading Region III in assists per set at 8.94 and sits 9th in the nation.
The Timberwolves next suit up at home versus Word of Life on Wednesday the 26th.
