SUNY Adirondack Knocks off Mohawk Valley, Advances to Regional
The SUNY Adirondack Volleyball team defeated Mohawk Valley Community College last night, 3-1, in a regional play-in game to advance to the Region III tournament.
Sophomore Karley Hertzner had a season high 16 kills to lead the Timberwolves. Jana Depalo had a great outing as well, posting 11 kills and 11 digs.
Freshman Alysia Kane had 8 kills and 11 digs in the victory. Emily Vetere set a new career best with 9 kills in the match. Morgan Bellanger had 10 digs in the match and fellow Sophomore Megan Friske had 8 digs.
Freshman setter Raeann Bombard led the team with 36 assists, she also had 9 digs in the win.
This win advances the Timberwolves into the Region III tournament that begins this Friday, November 1st at Niagara Community College. Time and opponent is still to be determined.
